  1. Hello all, I just purchased a "new to me" 1997 Sunesta, mercruiser 5.7. On our maiden voyage this past weekend we noticed that the boat would "not" start on position 1. So we flipped to position 2. In this position we would get the engine to crank but the trim wouldn't move. So we flipped to position "ALL" and everything worked just fine. Once we were ready to drop anchor, we switched back to 1 to play the radio but it wouldn't come on. We then switched to position All and 2, both worked flawlessly. Easy answer - battery 1 is dead. Well... after getting the boat home, I put a voltage meter on both batteries, each having 12 volts of juice. Still, no crank on 1. Now I'm worried that my wiring is screwed up or I have a faulty battery/perko switch. Either way, I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this issue further without swapping the batteries positions to see if that helps. NOTE: I did notice that one is a white marine battery and the other appears to be a normal 12 DC vehicle battery. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this further? thanks
