    Indoor Storage Cost?

Hi Chap Owners, I know this poll can vary based on geographics, however I have been searching for indoor storage extensively and can't find anything in my area that would be reasonable. I would really like to find a permanent indoor winter storage solution, however most are raking people over the coals as far as cost. What is resonable for most ?? Thanks for your guidance! My wife is going to kill me if I don't stop talking about mancaves.com. Any suggestions are highly appreciated!
  2. I am so interested on whether people have left their straps on (based on previous post: Forgetten Drain Plug?. I have done it twice, and I felt like an idiot both times!!

    Trailer Maintenance

Bearings are important! However ALWAYS check your lug nuts before and after long trips. I had a tire serviced for a nail approx 700 miles from home. I barely had a rim left when I returned home. If you have a tire serviced, check it 40 miles after servicing!

Patriots' Tom Brady Suspended 4 Games

They all try to find a way around the system. I am a die hard bronco fan and season ticket holder. I am not trying to hate on the Patriots but the broncos tried cheating the whole salary cap system in the Shanahan days. They paid a price on fines and draft pick(s). They just need to quit getting caught!

Need bimini for 2010 244 Sunesta

Tim, I have my originally Bimini set and am looking for a Chap owner in need of it. It was only used for 1/2 season. If u can private message me we could arrange a small amount of change. It's a black Bimini and it has the chap logo on the boot. Looking for a good owner for it. Once we put our tower on we now have a custom bumini. Rich Littell

    100 hour service

Hi owners, I am nearing 100 hours on our 2012 Chap 246 and I wanted to ask the experienced what I should ask for. Typically when someone asks for 500.00+ deer for this service, I want to know what I should be asking for, and what detail should I clear up before paying, and the list of items that should be checked off by the dealer. I do tow a lot, and my biggest interests are in whether the engine is fully seated and secured. Any other suggestions I what I should have the dealer clarify on this service? I intentionally did not have the drive service done before the last full dry winterize last September. Any suggestions?

    Fuel sending float sinks

Jeffreydc, what year is your boat.? Chaparral has replaced my fuel sending unit 2 times already. For our 246 they had a hard time as they had to drill a significantly large hole beneath the battery storage area. Its been a while, but others have been having similar issues. If your boat is relatively new it may be worth talking with a local dealer. Good luck.

    100 hour service

Thanks everyone for your input. I am unfortunately living in an apartment for about 4 more months and won't have access to use my old driveway. Thanks for the advice. I will definitely make sure that all the items get crossed off the list before they provide the service. For now I will start replacing the impeller and checking the impeller. All valuable advice!

After market wake board tower for 246ssi

Here's our Samson. We love it so far. Samson mentioned to me that they can do custom towers based on your model. But it does come at a price. Our Samson I think was in the 3200 ish range. Good luck.

    Pulled the trigger!

    Best boat for the region

Hi J@J York, Being a native of Colorado and boating for a decade or so, my wife and I love the ability to have no ties to one lake. However there's a price: lots of towing! The great news is that you will be close to pueblo, which I think is one the nicer and larger lakes in Colorado. You may want to look into slip rentals at pueblo if you want to leave on water. Pueblo is the last lake in Colorado that circulates the water in the winter. If your trailer is in good condition for towing and your boat is easily trailerable I would say keep it. There's one primary dealer in Pueblo West that sells boats (mainly sells Four Winns). I am not aware of any dealers in C Springs. My wife and I have committed to moving North of Denver into Loveland into a new build community. Our primary reason is because there is a higher density of smaller lakes. Where we are moving has a Chap dealer that we use. This would be approx 110 miles from you. In summary I would say boat is better than no boat however I have never trailered a smaller cuddy. When on the lakes we untrailer and trailer every day. Feel free to repost or send a PM. Good luck. P.S. you are moving to one of the coolest cities in America. The mountains will be in your back door and its is beautiful there!

    Lake Table Rock

I guess it doesn't hurt to post, but my wife and I decided we will be visiting Table Rock sometime in July. As of right now we are looking at the region closer to Branson (near Still Waters Resort) but would be open to other regions of the lake. Does anyone know of any friends/family/owners that rent their house and dock somewhere in this region? We are looking to house approximately 14 or so people for a 5/6 night length. Thanks Mid-West group for any suggestions/references in advance.

    Lake Table Rock

WERE BOOKED!!!! Thanks Futzin' and ScottC for all the suggestions. We have officially decided to stay just off Indian Point at a small campgound called Tall Pines! Our group will be out and about boating on the Branson side of the lake from July 6th through the 12th and we are slipping at Indian Point Marina If either or any others have any hookups/roundups on lake during this time ( and would like to entertain other Chap owners) let me know! We are very excited and I look forward to the journey. I have read up on all the Missouri boating laws and can comply 100%, however didn't see any information regarding the use of flags (A Colorado law requirement when people are in the water). Any secrets, things to see on the lake, and helpful GPS coordinates would be very beneficial as well. Thanks again!

    Dead 2013 246

Very interested in outcome as well. Let me know if you have any other issues, in particular, fuel descender. My boat is going to the shop again this weekend to repair #2 fuel issue. My boat is in great running order, however the computer thinks its out of gas! Good luck.

A fortune to replace fuel tank sending unit?

Crazy to say, but my fuel descender issue (previously fixed by my dealer) is now back again! Is anyone else having issues with Chap factory digital display and fuel level indicator? I have informed my dealer and service shop I am not currently happy!

    Deep Rocky lakes and anchors

We currently use the "large" box anchor, and had many successes. We have anchored on muddy, rocky, and tree/shrubby areas. CONS: are: it is heavy, requires some strength (sometimes a hammer is needed) to create the box, and convert to back to flat (for storage). We always carry our slide anchor too. We have run into situations where we have held and no one else has. Typlically I don't drop out the box anchor more than 30 feet (afraid of the cost of replacement - the can be pricey). When said and done, having both slide and box helps me in all situations. Good luck!

    First Day

+1 to everyone who shared stories. With all stories related to prep, lauch, and load, without a doubt the most important thing is to "prepare" either in or before the lauch line. If I feel pressure, I am willing to allow others to pass. I am not saying that I am anywhere near perfect, however I have had quite of bit of grattitude helping those load/unload if I am available or waiting. Boating is the only recreational activity that involves waving/gesturing while on the lake, and I think the courtesy really goes a long way while on the ramp. Enjoy the summer!

    Boat trailering, yes or no

The average lakes we visit are approximately 2 to 4 hours away. Therefore our boating is limited to bi-weeklendy (don't know if that is a word). All of Colorado's water goes to other states, so we are in Wyoming, Nebraska, Arizona, Utah more often than not. Its worth the travel to us!

    2 foot-itis, anyone regret upgrading?

We went from a 22 to a 24. I would state that it depends if you tow all the time. We tow a lot, and I always keep and eye on the 25 and 26, but then reality kicks in and I am happy with the 24. Once you get into the 25,26 and beyond, I really think a diesel pusher is a requirement (still waiting on Ford/Chevy to come up with large SUV diesel). I talked with an sudo insider at Toyota, and they have been considered diesel in the Tundra line. Good luck!
