  1. Thanks for the clarity on the proper description....With boat in water already what are the chances the garden hose technique will work? Does it make more sense to pull it and do this operation on the trailer?
  2. Greetings all. Have a weep drain ( I think that's what it's called) that is blocked and not draining. Location is the area where you step down to enter the cabin area. I've snaked it with a metal coat hanger with no luck. Not sure where this one leads to either. Any suggestions as to drain layout diagram or other method to clear? This is on a '94 signature 24'. I can try to get a photo later of exact location. Thank you!!

  4. I called Pro Mariner and got the current 2 bank dry mount model to replace the dead one. A reasonable install and I'm back in business. They were fast and easy to deal with, price was not bad $200 for the 3 bank ProNautic. Located in New Hampshire got me one day shipping too down to RI. Time to get back out there. Thanks everyone for the good feedback!
  5. I'm looking to have a little custom canvas work done. All the local shops around RI are flat out 6-10 weeks. Crazy. Looking for a reputable shop anywhere that you'd recommend I give a call who could turn something around within a few weeks.
  6. Seems the Promariner 2.0 amp. unit failed. (Not bad for 20 years old). According to Promariner they have a 3 bank setup that would work fine on my dual battery setup. About $200 for their unit. Does it make sense to replace with another Pro or try something else. Regardless the unit has to be wired into the galley switch console from the engine compartment and onto the batteries as well.
  7. So I may be replacing the original unit which is 21 years old. Are there certain features to look for? Sorry I'm shooting blind since I don't know make/model of what I have now.
  8. So I got a call today from the marina that while performing my maintenance request they noticed my charging system was very hot. Stated not to use it and unplugged my cord at the slip. I didn't get more detail when I asked what the failure is/was. Maybe they don't need more of my money..... So question is if the unit needs replacement where is a good place to start? I couldn't even tell you what I have now...I'm going down tomorrow to take a look.
  9. Agreed; that does just about sum it up doesn't it?
  10. Yes, jumping in is tomorrow's plan. These are Bennett tabs that are hydraulic.
  11. Interesting perspectives. Thanks. I was hoping for a '10 cent tour' today but surprisingly the owners decided to avoid a clear, sunny 83 degree day with low breeze. Maybe tomorrow. Let me continue the discussion by asking: If you are going to spend north of $275K on a boat that you potentially can only use 5-6 months of the year here in New England wouldn't you be there every waking minute? I know if you are in for the long term, like a home, the payoff occurs, but then again couldn't you go bigger; at least longer, for the same cash and maybe a few less bells 'n whistles? Just thinking via th
  12. Enjoyed a great day today on the waters and upon the return I noticed we seemed to be listing more towards my port side while under way. Cruising at about 22 knots nothing to crazy. Granted the wind direction and chop from boat traffic can cause adverse conditions but this seemed excessive. I have to believe I have a stuck trim tab. I'm looking for suggestions to confirm this now that I'm back in the slip hopefully without having to pull her out. If you've experienced a similar condition please share your diagnosis and repair.
  13. Went down to the dock today and tied up one slip next to me is a brand spanking new Formula 31PC. White with black acents. Beautiful boat to say the least. North of $300K I believe when done. I'm curious to know how they compare to Chaps. If I choose every option on the Signature 31 from the Chap website you still come in less than $300K. When you get to this price range are you getting the same thing but the name plate is just different?
  14. I have to check to see if they are VDO. I would think so since they are stock. With today being a washout I'm planning to pull the panel and see what there is to work with....
  15. Who can offer suggestions on a source for replacement dash gauges? I'm looking to upgrade the look from the old stock ones I've got.
