  1. Thanks for your advice. I spent most of the morning chasing the wires around the engine compartment to try to find the short. I did continuity checks on both the throttle switch and platform switch but they look good. I am wondering if the short can be in the motor itself or the wires attached to it. Its very hard to get to though and I'm about ready to throw in the towel and call an expert. Seems like this would not be the first time something like this happened on this model.
  2. I have a 2004 230SSI with a new trim problem. As soon as battery power is switched on, the trim motor runs trim up even without engaging the trim button. Even after the outboard drive reaches the upper stops, the motor continues to try to "trim up." When I engage "trim down", the motor stops running completely and sounds like it is off. But it does not trim down at all. I am stuck at full trim up with the trim motor continuing to trim up more unlesss I turn off battery power or trim down. This sounds like a short in the trim button on the power throttle to me but any advice would be appreciated. Thanks for any help.
  3. I've got a 2004 230SSi. It has a nice built-in for an igloo cooler. Problem - son lost cooler! I need a replacement. I tried the Igloo 36 qt size but it was too big. Can anyone tell me the correct size cooler to fit in the hole? I think it is likely a 25 qt but I'm having trouble finding that locally and would have to order one. Don't want to order anything that I's have to mail back. Would appreciate any help on this.Thanks
