  1. In fact I did'nt change the wires because they look preety good. the engine total hours are 145 only.
  2. Well Dox , I received the boat from NJ last february. It was winterized when it reached here (east africa). I used one of our mechanics at the location here where we did check everything, oil looks brand new , outdrive oil, trim oil...etc. starting the engine we discovered a worn out impeller and we changed it. after using it for 3 month (around 20 hours) I changed only the spark plugs. Now I have put almost 25 hrs on the new spark plugs (volvo ones), and a total of 45 hrs on the oil, 10 hrs on the fuel filter and 45 hrs on the new impeller. That's all more or less. willy
  3. Hi all, I need your technical assistance if possible in the following matter: I kept my boat at the moring for almost 3-4 month with may be 1/2 an hour running every week. Sometimes it was kept for 3 weeks without running. The boat is a sig 260 model 2001, with a Vovo 5.7 GSI DP. Last few times I run it it was unable to run more than 3200 or hardly touches the 3900 rpm for few seconds and come back to 3200 rpm at WOT. I pulled it out to my yard to go through it where I found heavy loads of animal marine and snales building up on the props and the bottom. It was all removed and professionally
  4. May God bless the sole of such honorable man. Being in the line of fire since quite sometime, I wonder how come that the declaration and awarding him with the medal of honor came that late !! its a bit terrifying, and more when it come from the former adm that has caused kind of irreversible damage to us and to our credibility and to other innocent people !!!!!!!!!! The media unfortunately has never ever being honest to us at any stage, and our kind of isolation far from the rest of the world makes their job of deceiving us and selling us information that is totally misleading easy. We say tha
  5. I would rather opt for an unscrewed plug, that went off , and considering the diameter of the plug , you aint gonna get an overflow in a sec specially that the bilge is pumping out as well. for 2004 its hard to imagine anything rather than a loose plug (aas far as you have done a proper winterization). let us know what did you find at the end
  6. Thanks a lot classic 81 for the translation !!! that was realy great. I was very hesitating to ask for it, but jeff again has the gutts right when he asked for such translation. Thanks Jeff again and again. willy
  7. Thanks a lot mr. Fuji, If I'm not wrong, I did undertood that you dont like Volvo's. and you prefer mercuruisers. well, fact of life is I do have a volvo and I personally like it so far. The problem as jeff said was solved once I removed the F8 prop andreturned back to my F 4 . Amazingly, jeff was also very right in anticipating that the fuel pump was on the way and I changed it a couple of days ago and I 'll give it a test next week end.
  8. NO DOUBT , a smaller pitch prop will give u a higher speed. I'm saying that out of a recent experience , when I replaced the F4 prop with an F8 hoping to get a faster speed and the result was a couple of weeks of searching why the boat dropped speed and rpm extremely down, till I went back to my old smaller prop where I get back to my original speed.
  9. Jeff, I've been through what you're talking about. I have chappy sig 260, with volvo 5.7 GSI DP. It came with an F4 prop. I purchased through ebay also a twice used F8. The props honestly looks brand new. I did replace the F4 hoping to get a higher speed with the F8 ..guess what happened ? no more than 2200 rpm at wot ,and not even 20 mph. Everyone give me a different inputs which mechanicaly or electricaly makes sense, and I did follow, but after exhausting every existing possibilty, I changed back to the F 4 .....peice of cake again I saw the 4600 rpm and the 40mph. So I kept aside the
  10. dear all , Since I start getting in my boat and I wanna have it all. My 260 Signature came with abrand new microwave built in together with a fridge and elec/alcohol stove. The fridge is working fine, but I discovered the microwave aint working, cuase there is'nt an inverter. Well its clear that it has'nt been touched because it still have the manuals and the foam inside and the closing plaster. The microwave is a small built in from the factory that does'nt exceed 750-850 watts. Finally I discovered some discussions on the site here about inverters that is not giving enough surge power to s
  11. Well, thanks again for your great help. In fact its an injection 5.7 GSI . I did open the fuel cap , but I did'nt hear the sound because I think there is a big air input hose with a big side opening on the right side of the boat. Yet today I decided to #$^% with my work, I went to the moring with 2 external 50 liters of fuel and a pump pressure guage. The pump was giving a 28 psi at the begining when cold. I kept going on for a couple of hours and it did'nt drop below 18-20 psi, but suddenly start to go as down as 10-11 psi. Since the fuel guage is'nt working (still waiting for one) so I opene
  12. Thank you all for your realy great inputs. I am sorry for being late to reply, but its kind of difficult to get the internet connection, where I'm stuck now !! well in fact seems that Jeff hit the bulls eye. I tried every possible thing from changing the fuel filter to spark plugs, check the timming...fuel combustion....removed the thermostat...nothing work out. finally and in a desperate trial, I remembered Jeff saying put back the old F4 prop...I did , and amazingly it went as fast as 4600 rpm and reaching 40 mph. that was great, but as an ex engineer, did'nt sounds good to me, if 4 pitches
