  1. I replace the ignition sensor on the boat and I still have the same thing. Could it be the thunderbolt ignition module is bad? Please help
  2. On the ignition coil there are three points the positive post (+), the negative post (-), and the coil wire point, all three have power on them with the ignition switched on. I have not checked the negative side while cranking the engine but I will check that. There is a sensor inside the distributor and there is also a rectangular module on the back of the distributor that has a connector with six wires in it. Is that the ignition module or is the sensor inside the distributor the module? Thanks for helping.
  3. I have a 1994 Chaparral 200 SL with 5.7L mercruiser engine. The engine will not start, just cranks over. I check the fuel and I’m getting fuel to the carb, but on the ignition coil with the key switched on I have power on the positive post of the coil and power on the negative post of the coil and also power on the coil wire it self. I need help please
  4. Sorry you guys I made a mistake. It's running at 4500 at WOT and I looked online and the online spec's I found said 4400 was the recommended.
  5. At WOT it's about 3500 RPM and its above the recommended range.
  6. I have a 1994 Chaparral 200 SL Limited with a 5.7L Mercruiser. I use the boat for joy riding, tubing, and occasionally wake boarding. The prop on the boat now is worn and has some chips and dings in it, it's a J14 25x21P three blade. This is my first boat and I don't know a lot about them, I need some advice on a new prop. Is the size that's on it now good for what I use the boat for or is there a better size and pitch that would work. Thanks for any help I can get.

  9. I have a 1994 200 SL LTD Chaparral. My fuel gauge and my tachometer and my speedometer do not work correctly. The speedometer is off by about 5 mph and the fuel gauge just bounces around and the tachometer does not work at all. I've looked for wiring diagrams to find the problem. Does anybody have any suggestions?
