  1. Changed out an impeller for a friend. Alpha 1 Gen 2. put back together fired it up and found lube leaking. Its coming out a small weep hole right where the shift shaft where it comes through the upper case..I havent pulled the upper off yet but is there a seal that might have gotten damaged? Heres a vid I found of the weep hole..differance is I'm getting lube coming out and not water
  2. My tank had the manufacturer and part number right on it.. Was made by RDS Aluminum in Florida. They were great to work with when I called. Built the new tank and shipped it to me in upstate NY in about 3 weeks. I think they built a lot of the tanks for differant chaps back then. Heres their number see what they say 800-292-6898 I stand corrected. Mine was from Ezell in Florida. their number is 850 578 2558 I believe these two companies did most of the tanks
  3. Was reading over the winter and stumbled acroos the topic of iac valves and them going bad. Read that how most people were saying around 300 hours and they stop working. So I ordered one while the boat was in storage. Got the boat out and discovered I had a differant valve, early 2000's. Not the one everyone is ordering Motorcraft to replace. So my question is was this type of iac valve also prone to a short life? I'll try to attach a generic pic of what I have. 2002 5.7l mpi merc

  11. Thinking about adding a windlass to my 2002 260 sig. after looking at them I have what I hope isnt a dumb question. The shelf that it will sit on is on the starboard side. But it seem most windlass have "pully" on the starboard side of the motor so it seems the rode wouldnt line up..Am I looking at them wrong?? Maybe I'm over thinking it

  14. if you do go to Singer. stovin island in Brockville Ont has a great cliff for jumping in. Doesnt look huge from the water but when you're on top it looks a lot bigger lol..
  15. singer castle is nice. right across fron singer is cedar island state park. look for the gazebo on the point and the docks are behind it. Summerland island group in a nice spot people anchor and hang out. Have you been to Lake of the isles yet? its another hangout party spot

  17. Really the first cruise with the new boat. A little choppy so I thought I'd play with the trim tabs. Made the boat handle worse and I'm like what the H***? Next day at the dock thought I'd play around with them..Well the previous owner must have installed a new trim tab pump and had the hydro lines reversed!!! To top it off up and down seem to be backwards! Though I was going nuts trying to drive this thing lol. Switched the hydro lines back and the left and right is fine now. Anyone know how or hat to change to get the up and own in order? Way to much to remeber that the are backwards when underway.
  18. lol ..not sure if the formula was wrong or not, read that a lot of the go fasts are wired this way but cant say for sure. Guess I should have done some reading before posting lol
  19. So I'm reading. On the Formula I owned the tab did what the switch did. ie starboard down put the starboard tab down, port switch down put the port tab down. Gues I was used to this way and now got confused to the way my Chap was set up...Think I like the old way batter
  20. Hmmm after a little research it seems they are supposed to be set up this way. The formula I owned was not. Think i would rather have the rocker switches reflect what each tab is doing
  21. had the same problem with mine..narina changed the lower shift cable and also a cover on the b3 outdrive. they showed the cover to me, it has a spring loaded "ball" in it that is the detent for the shift linkage. when this wears it wobbles so to speak and binds the linkage acting like the shifter is stuck and then lets looses.

  25. 2002 signature, 350mag and bravo 3. Put the boat in the water and had a very hard shifter, foward and neutral. Called the marina and got a two week wait time. So I figured I'd lube the lower cable to see if it would freee up some in order to buy me a couple weeks use. Unhooked the cable from the linkage and pull the plastic mount/sleeve off the end in order to spray the inner cable. Hooked everything back up and the shifter seems much easier to move however I've lost reverse! Shifted it with the engine running as not to bend the forks. Never moved the brass barrel used for adjustment and it didnt move by accident as its been dimpled so it wont move easily.. At a loss for ideas here....
