  1. Thanks guys, still have not painted the boat. Having employment issues.
  2. Hi Guys, I painted my boat's hull with 2k paint but is now considering putting 3 layers of Gel coat on it. What preparation do I need to do and what must I watch out for when doing the gel coat? Any advise is welcome.
  3. Hi Guys, I have a problem on the top half of the boat. Not sure what the previous owner did but in a few places it seems there are moisture inside the fibre glass. When I sand the old paint it comes off and the next morning it is as if the moisture seeps to the surface. Should I paint the outside and leave the inside bare for the fibre glass to "breath" or should I heat it up to get rid of the moisture. Pretty frustrated now.
  4. Thanks got it.
  5. Hi Guys, here are some bigger pictures of the valve. I need to know how to set it up.

  7. Thanks for the feedback
  8. Hi All, As part of my project I have to paint the top side of my boat. I have done all the preparation and need to know what is the best paint to use top side. I want to paint it a pearl white color. I was thinking of using filler primer (2k) and then base coat, clear coat same as on cars. Will this work or do I need to use marine paint?
  9. Thank you, any idea how to set it up? On the top cover there are Roman numbers XIII, XII. I need the position of these
  10. Thanks Guys, But I am confused. Retlaw. When you say trim is up do you mean in the trailer position? Wingnut; why is the trim and tilt piping going to the valve and not the power arm or is the piping wrong?
  11. Hello from a sunny South Africa. I am currently rebuilding a boat with a 4.3L V6 Mercruiser. The lever where the forward reverse cable is connected to, in my case, is on a hydraulic directional valve. The hydraulic pipe going to trim and tilt is going past this valve. I would like to know what this does and how to set this up.
