  6. Autopilot. That will be the ultimate goal as i do 4 to 6 hours journey regularly so a hydraulic autopilot set-up make sense. I do know there are linear drive autopilot set-up but the free-play on the mechanical steering wheel will make the autopilot work a lot harder. No other reason, just autopilot. Especially wanted to try out the new Garmin GHP 10 which only does hydraulics. I'm a gadget guy, having just put up a Northstar M84, hook up the smartcraft gateway, installed a Garmin GMI 10 with wind sensor and link them up on NMEA 0183 ti share data. My 270 is a 2007 model so the gauges are not smarcraft enabled hence went to the Northstar set-up route to tapped the smartcraft data out from the Mercruiser 350 MAG.
  7. I'm curious to know if anyone of you have converted a power assisted steering into a full hydraulic set-up? I have a Sig 270 and looking to do so shortly so any pre-advice much appreciated. So far, SeaStar seems to be the way to go. Any input, tips or tricks most appreciated Thanks
