    Chaparral Boats Shipping Covers

If you are looking for the original shipping covers for your Chaparral Boat contact Cynde Martin below. These covers are white vinyl on the outside with the felt material underneath, 2 rackets and Chaparral Logo on the boat's beam. Ms. Martin was able to locate my covers for a 2007, 246 Bowrider, which covers the swim platform too. These are the exact covers that the boat had when I bought the boat new. On my previous boat and trailer

I did what Boat Crazy did, except I added a rachet from the boat's bow eye to the trailer support beam underneath where the anchor drain is located on the bow. So, now I have four rachets attached. Two in the rear, one that holds the bow snug in the bow rest and the fourth one that keeps the boat from moving forward. BTW, these rachets can support 1500 pounds each. I too have seen when the trailer jack-knifes and the boat shoots off the trailer. John

    I debated on which recreational

I debated on which recreational toy to take in the shop to get items repaired or replaced. Do I take the Chaparral boat to be winterized or do I take the 29 foot travel trailer to get items repaired from the dealership. Well, I picked the travel trailer and to my disbelief, my 2005 Prowler travel trailer floated around the yard at Camping World in Woodstock, GA. in 7 feet of water and now is considered a total loss. The wife and I are planning to visit the trailer tomorrow and inspect it. After that, we plan on visiting the Atlanta Camping and RV show for a new one. Good News, our 2007 Chaparral Bowrider in at home high and dry and waiting its turn to go and be winterize. I hope things go better with her. I just thought to share my recent experience this week with you guys. John

    I have an 2006 276 ssi with a vacuflush

Just a quick note to mention that some chaparral boats have porta potties, so you can detact the porta potty from the hoses too. Also, if you leave the porta potty in the boat, be sure to put the antifreeze in the device that pumps the water to the bowl. Also, use antifreeze for marine or RV use only. John

I followed a fellow boater from

I followed a fellow boater from the boat ramp and managed to flag him over and we stopped on the highway. It seems his strap broke from his winch and his boat was beginning to slid off the trailer. I gave him some extra rachets straps and we managed to slid the boat back on after a few quick stops of his tow vehicle and then we secured the bow eye. Am I the only guy who secures a rachet strap to the bow eye when trailering? I always think the wrinch strap will dry rot one day and brake, so I just like to be prepared. What do ya'll think? John

I have a question about pulling

The wife and I saw a Non Chap boater using his cleats on the swim platform to pull a tube containing 4 persons. He trailered his boat too and I saw him on shore afterwards. I saw where the screws attached to the stern had been pulled out. He lost one of the arms that supports the swim platform. One of the open holes was below the waterline and water was coming in. He said there was a thumb and the stern jerked and that is when the swim platform separated from the boat. I wished I took a picture of it to show everyone. My wife looked at the boat and then at me and then she gave me that "look". Guys, you know that "look"
