  1. Impulse purchases. Some buy candy bars or lottery tickets, I'm buying a boat. I'm new to the boating world, and will appreciate the wisdom and information of this forum. That said, here's the boat story: A few weeks ago, I saw a 1994 Chaparral 1830 SST Sport with a 4.3L l6 MerCruiser in my friend's yard and said: "ooh, who's boat?" The response was jokingly "wanna buy it?" And then I thought about it. And that was a mistake.   2. I am looking for my first bowrider and have narrowed my selection down to Chaparral (2nd choice is a SR). I am looking at 2 boats that have been very well maintained (as is the case with most Chaparrals I find - their owners really care for these boats!). Details of the two boats are as follows: 1995 1830 SS sport edition, V6 Mercruiser, all tarps, 435 hours 1997 1830 SS limited edition, V6 Volvo, all tarps - unknown hours (because boat is currently in storage) All else being equal (priced very similar), I am leaning toward the limited edition given the nice finishing but this boat has been
