I'm thinking of putting trim tabs on our 07 236 SSX. I need it to be able to stay on plane a few mph slower for wakeboarding. I struggle keeping the bow down under 24 mph and would love to get down to the 20-21 mph range. Has anyone added trim tabs to their 236? What size? Where should they be placed? I remember reading that closer to the out drive was better placement for wakeboarding improvements but the thread never provided any resolution. Thanks, EC
If your speedometer is not working, a good chance the intake hole is plugged up. I read that many times, but unfortunately, I could not easily find a Boat Talk post that showed EXACTLY where the intake hole was on my 236 SSX. Thankfully, after much searching, I found the answer. Shepherd (I think), posted a picture showing exactly where the hole is. It was a few years ago, but in hopes of helping someone else I am "reposting", and added a few topic tags. Finally, fixed, all good. I used an eyeglass screwdriver to unplug. Again, just thought I would "Pass it On"! Thanks!!!
Here's the dilemma: Do we buy the brand new 246 SSI or the used '07 236 SSX? '07 has the 5.7L GXI with 135 hours (seldom used for the age) and 246 has the 5.7L 350 Mag Bravo 3. With all the dealer incentives right now, the cost difference is about . Any help on finding someone to inspect the used boat? It would be a sight unseen purchase which makes me nervous. How much to expect for cost of inspection? Seriously leaning towards new but wouldn't mind putting an extra in my pocket either. Any pros and cons you would like to share with a Newbie? Thanks in advance! Can't wait to join the owner
