  1. So, my first project for my new to me 2335 SS (once all mechanicals are determined sound) will be to upgrade the antiquated GPS. It is a Garmin 172 C with external GPS antenna and no transducer. I want this Lowrance unit as it will fit the spot where the old unit was with a simple ram mount. Below is the unit I am considering buying, it is a refurbished unit with transducer included with 6 months warranty. I am interested in using Navionics charts or even the NauticInsight charts. 2. I am having a problem with the dealer that sold me my brand new 2014 29 Signature. In the contract, he sold me a 10 inch garmin chartplotter, (Garmin model # 7410). When I got home, I looked but the gps, but the Garmin 7410 is a british model. I called him up, and he said he made a mistake, it was the 7610. But he called me last month and told me a 10 inch wont fit. He is installing an 8 inch Garmin 7608xsv, and not giving me a credit. He says they are about the same price. Will a 10 inch fit? I know I am getting taken. Is there anything I can do about it? I feel like if I make too m

  5. It appears to have been several years since this topic was on the forum. My 2007 Lowrance LCX 27c seems to be obsolete since it will not run current Navionics maps so I selected the Lowrance HDS-7 Gen2 as a replacement. The next step was adding a new Lowrance VHF and a new external GPS antenna compatible with the NMEA 2000 network. After several calls to Lowrance customer service/technical support ( which were very helpful ), I decided to proceed with the NMEA 2000 network starter kit and link all the marine electronics. The project is scheduled for 7/15. My research indicates that this shoul
  6. Anybody who uses the Navionics Marine & Lakes on iPhone/iPad/Android changed to the new "Navionics Boating" app? They say they will continue to provide updates to the legacy s/w but just wondering if a jump to the new app would be worth it. It's not all that expensive, really but if the delta of functionality/resolution/POI data, etc isn't significant I am not sure the juice is worth the squeeze. Just looking for anybody that took the leap....
