I am preparing to install the factory option Garmin 742xs in my 2016 226. I have ordered the unit, transducer, and woodgrain bezel. The dealer is not showing any additional parts required to the install. It seems like there would be a harness to go from the digital gauges to the unit. Does anyone know if there is an existing Nmea 2000 network from the factory or what is required to tie the engine data to the GPS unit?

Hello All, I'm new to the forum and I'm hoping you guys can help. I'm looking at two different Chaparral 226 boats. One is equipped with the VP 240 horsepower V6 with duo-prop (2016 model) the other has the VP 270 HP V8 SX (2015 Model) Both have around 55 hours on them. The 2016 was in salt water and the 2015 fresh water only. Would that limited amount of time in salt water be an issue if it was flushed after each use? Also, as far as power and performance for water sports, which would be the better option? Would I notice much difference in fuel economy between the 2 set ups? Would
