  1. Trying to confirm the dry weight of the 2021 26 Surf. The site says 5,100lbs with engine. I have the 26 Surf with the Volvo 350 with maybe half tank fuel and 100lbs of storage (empty ballast bag) and my lift rated for 6,500lbs can not lift it. Two boat lift companies can't figure out why and the only thing I can think of is the weight is wrong. Any way to confirm it?
  2. So I've been interested in a wakesetter boat to try wakesurfing for years, but they don't seem practical at all. Outside of towsports, the wakesurf specific boats don't appear to be good for much else. So when I came across the Chaparral surf series at the boat show this year I was intrigued. I guess, they've been around for a few years, but I hadn't seen them. Now I'm thinking it may be the way to go. You can enjoy wakesurfing and other water sports, but also enjoy a more traditional runabout. My question is whether anyone that has one has any feedback on how well they work for wake
  3. Just got a 2016 223 Vortex VRX with the ASP (Aerial Surf Platform) and am looking for tips and suggestions on setting the boat up for the best wave to surf. Speed, ballast, should i be making a minor turn also. also, is there a specific board that works best with the ASP wave? how far back from the rear of the boat is the sweet spot with the most push? also looking for suggestions on keeping the rope from getting stuck in the wake when pulling a tube. i have only been on the boat twice but have been unable to swing the tube from one side of the wake to the other when pulling the kids
  4. I am very interested in the vortex 22 or 24 footer (preferably 22 due to price) with the surf platform. I haven't seen any of these on my lake and I know they are hard to find. I am hoping for feedback regarding the quality of the wake in terms of wake surfing. Compared to a good inboard (newer one with surf tabs), that is.... Will it produce a crisp wake? Large enough wake to drop the rope, etc.? I would appreciate any feedback. Also, how loud is this boat compared to a stern drive? Thanks.
