I bought a 1992 Chaparral 2000 SL Sport the other day and took it out for a few hours. At the end of the time on the water, it was having issues staying on when in idle and had to start it multiple times. Even to the point where it didn’t want to turn over when we got back. Changed out the battery four times when we got back and no luck. Hit the starter a few times and no luck. Any suggestions? Spark plugs? Hydrolocked? New boater here just hoping I didn’t invest in a money pit
  2. Greetings - A tree at the camp fell and broke my drivers side clear glass. My marina said to just get a new boat (not helpful). It is Taylor Clear Curve, measures 27 1/2 inches along the walkthrough frame. I imagine that these panels were used by manufacturer's on many bowriders. I found a similar panel for sale on e-bay- seller says came from a 1994 1930, but dimensions are nearly exact. Might the 1930 and 1800 have shared the same curved glass from Taylor? Does anyone have any comments or suggestions for me? I contacted Taylor directly but no response. Thank you Chappy's.

  4. Purchased a fixer upper 1992 Chaparral Signature 28 at auction a little over a year ago. I have been working on the engines Volvo Penta 431B's and outdrives AQ290dp in my free time(what there is of it), and hope to take it out next weekend to McPhee Reservoir. I plan to use it primarily on Lake Powell during Spring, and Fall. McPhee Reservoir during the summer. I have used this forum for information on Chap. boats, and must say I think I purchased a diamond in the rough for $4900. Looking forward to getting to know some of you in the area(not many, but noticed a few posters are in the Southwest). Will post photos when I figure out how to make file sizes small enough to attach. Just installed a new plow anchor today, and am working on the freshwater system(a few leaks still to find).
