  4. Chaps, I am in the market for a new prop because the one I have has a lot of wear and some pretty big dings. I have a 06 215 SSI with a 5.0L Merc Cruiser. I have a little trouble getting on plane with four or more people and it is not very responsive at idle when docking. The suggestions I got so far were a 14.25 x 21 3-blade and 14.5x20 4-blade. Any suggestions or advice. Regards
  5. I have a month old 2013 Chaparral 216 SSI. It did not come with a GPS, but does have the digital gauges with the box in the middle of the con. I was wondering if that box was specifically sized for the Garmin 531\541? Since the dimensions of the 546 are identical, it should fit with no problems, correct? The reason I am asking is Garmin has a new model coming out, the 547, which has a lot more bells and whistles, but it is not the exact same size. Of course, I'd like one that fits nicely. Here are the dimensions of the two: Dimensions of the 541 are: 5.9" x 6.4" x 2.9" (15.0 x 16.3 x 7.4 cm) Dimensions of the 547 are: 5.9" x 6.1" x 2.4" (15.0 x 15.5 x 6.1 cm) Thanks for your help!!!
  6. Hello All. I am the proud new owner of a new 2012 216 ssi. My research on this forum was instrumental in my purchase decision. Thanks for all the great content!!! Now that the weather is somewhat warm, we have had her out a few times and I discovered the universal unwanted passenger.....water in the bilge. Now I am new at this, but pretty sure that any amount of water in the bilge of a brand new boat is not normal. She is stored at an indoor climate controlled facility (no rain water), has not been washed in weeks (no hose water), no one has boarded from the lake (wet). So, I don't see any reason for there to be water in the bilge. We have run 4 times about 1.5 hours each. The last run resulted in 30 seconds of water draining full force from the bilge drain hole. The simple solution would be to pull her back to the dealer; however they are 100 miles away, so I wanted to pick yall's brain first. Any ideas? Thanks! 7. Today is both a sad and happy day for our house. Last year I took delivery of a 216 SSi in April and have loved every minute of the 70hrs my wife and I put on her. But, last week I came across a deal on my dream boat that I couldn't pass up so I pulled the trigger today. I want to say thanks to everyone on this board that helped me along the way. I was a newbie boater last year and had a lot of questions and this forum kept me well informed the entire time. So, here's to my Chap family for keeping it real. If anyone boats in the Knoxville, TN area look for me in a new Mastercraft X-30. Take care everyone! My old girl - Pier Pressure My new girl - will possibly be named Drug Money (long story)
