  1. Minor dock mishap yesterday resulted in a small gelcoat scratch roughly 3” long and maybe 1/8” deep. Last boat I was able to easily find the gelcoat repair kit from Spectrum Color, but I’m not having any luck this time. Color is alloy gray (2019 257 SSX) and I’m finding lots of gray, but not alloy gray. Different color name perhaps? Appreciate any guidance!

    Just got a new 257SSX.
  3. I am a current Sunesta 224 owner with the 260hp motor and am ordering a new 2015 257 SSX. Have read a bit on these forums about opinions on which engine to choose but was wondering whether the closed-circuit cooling offered on the merc 8.2 is the major selling point for the upgrade to that power plant or whether the hp difference is the larger benefit. The salesman cited both as reasons to upgrade. I am operating the boat in salt water and I don't fully understand the value of the water cooled concept which is standard with the 8.2. I have ruled out the base 350MAG so am choosing between the 6.2 320hp merc or the 8.2 380. Appreciate any insight.
