Hi, I'm new to not only this forum, but forms in general. I am reaching out for some help. I am in the market for a boat that would do well in shallow water. I need something with a beam under 9' and after looking around came up with a few options. The 270 Signature seems to be the favorite with my family. I would be interested in hearing the opinions of current owners. things they like, dis-like, must have options, etc. thanks in advance for your time
Anyone have any words of wisdom regarding this engine/drive combination VP 8.1Gi 1.78 DP w/+.5 Inch Risers. Looking at purchasing an 2009 270 with this setup, and I know everyone says to run away from the XDP drives, but didn't know if the problem is resolved in this set up. Any words of wisdom are appreciated Would be upgrading from 2002 235 Ssi Cuddy Cabin w/5.7 Mercruiser Alpha 1 drive to this model. Also concerned about the size of the sleeping arrangements. We are tall people 5'11' and 6'4" and are quite frankly spoiled in our cuddy where we can both stretch out completely. In fact we can comortably sleep my 5'10" daughter in there with us and we all fit great. Had friends with an '05 330 and the 6'3" husband had to have a table with a pillow on it for his feet in the forward cabin.... don't want to have to do that, sleeping comfort is a must! (Their jaws hit the floor when they learned we could stretch out completely in our little cuddy....) Any other tall 270 owners have any commentary regarding sleeping arrangements and comfort? Can't beat the memory foam for a comfy night. Thanks!
Looking for some advice from someone that may have had this issue. I purchased a boat and then moved to another state. The boat is only a year old and the shifter is not working. Boat wont go into reverse when you shift into reverse it acts like its in neutral and just revs up. I called the local dealership and they all but told me they did not work on the volvo penta and only sold merc products and so they could not help. I would think given my warranty is with Chaparral they are responsible for fixing it one way or the other. Any suggestions???
