    93 Chaparral SLC 2200

We just purchased a boat for the first time. I did lots of research and found that Chaparral boats are top notch in my book. We found a 93 slc 2200 with a 454 bravo one outdrive. The overall condition of the boat was very good. It came with a very nice collapsable tower and tons of goodies. 4 wakeboards set of ski's and a solom ski. 10 vests neopreme and 4 wet suits. There were some nice ropes too. Here is the kicker a cracked big block. We are in the process of rebuilding it now. We were able to get the boat and all the goodies for 5,700$ I am forcasting about 1500 for the rebuild and we are good to go. What are your thoughts ??? Did we do good for our first boat or bad???

    New Sig 290, new boater

Hello folks, Would like to introduce myself to your forum. I shook hands on a 290 Signature last evening and hope to take possession of this beautiful red boat this weekend, after a test ride! It's a 2013 with only about 40 hours on it and it looks showroom new. I have studied boats of similar size and I feel it is the roomiest and best proportioned. I particularly like that it has a separate bow berth and dinette. I am 6'2" and can stand tall in the cabin! I would prefer another small fridge in the cockpit. You can imagine how excited I am. There is a some reticence on my part as I have never driven a boat before! For this, I will rely on friends! Have I made a good choice in boats? Any advice or warnings? Suggestions? Encouragement?Should I run for my life?! Thank you and I look forward to being part of the Chaparral community. Steve Orlando/Daytona beach
