Where can I get gel touch up online?
  2. What products to you guys use to keep your boat nice and shiny year round? Looking to do some preventative maintenance on my boat waxing and such. Just wanted to see if anyone uses anything other than some good wax.
  3. So since buying this boat I've had the entire interior replaced because the vinyl was "pinking", (which it's already begun to do again in places) I've had the engine removed so they could install an oil filter relocation kit, (since the oil filter was not accessible for service) and now I have cracks in my gel coat all around the bow under the cushions and all across my swim deck. I really don't see any way for Chaparral to fix this one. Is it time to just punt and sell this thing? Thanks

    Gelcoat rash

Any recommendations for fixing this terrible rash? Is this a1000 wet/dry job?
  5. Hi all...I bought a 2001 Chaparral model 205 SSE, mechanically the boat is fine but it has deep gouges in the fiberglass on sides of boat near the Chaparral Decal. Is it possible to obtain the exact matching color from factory or does the polyester resin color have to be tinted manually? thanks marcontrols
  6. This is probably a newbie question but I'll put it out there anyways. Part of a 'boatwarming' present we got from relatives when we bought the boat included 4 of the el-cheapo (white) 5" fenders. Probably came from Costco. We own a slip at the lake and so keep a couple of fenders tied there (on their side, fixed to the dock) for maximum impact area coverage. I noticed towards the end of last year that some of the red color from my hull was on the fender closest to the bow. I want to avoid damaging the gel coat any further and so was wondering if there is a 'better' fender brand that isn't as likely to do this? Is there a more gel-coat friendly method of protecting the boat (a combination of fenders and dock guard maybe?). I see they sell fleece fender covers at West Marine, but only for 8" and larger diameter fenders which would seem to push my boat out a long way from the dock? Any tips from someone who's dealt with this problem before? Thanks, Sean
