  1. I am about to rebuild my water pump and would like to know what else makes good sense to replace or rebuild along the way. I own a 2004 Sunesta 236 and the engine compartment looks more accessible than it really is. I am already planning to replace the serpentine belt while I have the water pump bracket removed. Is there anything else I should consider replacing so I do not have to repeat some of the same work and contortions it takes for me to reach certain parts? I considered the thermostat but it appears to be located more toward the top of the motor (if I have in fact located it). Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

    2003 Mercruiser 5.0l Water Pump

Hey all, Looking to do some preventative maintenance this spring to my 2003 200ssi with a 5.0l mercruiser motor. I am wanting to replace the water pump because i'm not sure that the previous owner ever did so it could be potentially 16 years old. Does anyone know where I can find a part number for this impeller kit? I have found a manual that looks like the pump is located off the motor. I'm more familiar with outboard motors and those impellers are in the lower unit. Is there an impeller on the lower unit of the bravo drives? Also how do you tell what gen the alpha drive is? The manual I have only talks about the Sea Water pump and it being located on the starboard side of the motor. Do any of you know of a good tutorial on this? The quick search I did on YouTube yielded some videos of people replacing an impeller on the lower unit. Thanks for the feedback in advance!!
  3. I have a '07 190 SSI I just bought last week. During the test run I checked the bilge and I heard it come on. This past weekend we got caught in one of those afternoon thunder showers and the boat got a little water in it. I flipped the bilge switch and nothing happened. I noticed that the light wasn't on the switch so I reset the breaker. Still nothing. First question, where is this thing located? I can't find it anywhere and I suppose it's behind the motor. Has anyone changed it and if so how? Pics would be nice. I'm sure there are some wires exposed since the breaker keeps tripping. Any info is appreciated!!

Question about pump under step entering cabin

We bought a used 2001 240 Signature Cruiser in excellent shape and we are enjoying it. However, there is a pump and a hole under the step entering the cabin area that always seems to have water right to the top. We need to know where this releases the water. There is no diagram in our owners manual showing where all the lines lead out to our portholes. I want to make sure this line as well as all the other lines are clear and not plugged up.
