  1. Hey guys, if you've been following the adventures of our new to us 2330 SS, then you know we've had some issues! Most have been squared away and I got around to replacing my thermostat in our boat. I made a video and the link is below. I found some interesting things along the way, but in the end it was a successful repair. I hope the weather is nice Saturday, as I'm looking forward to a nice lake day and peace of mind knowing that I am certain the boat is cooling correctly! This is my first video editing job, so don't be too harsh on me guys! I'm certainly not Spielberg... LOL... https://youtu.be/dlaudnHo1nc
  2. So I got a GoPro for Christmas along with a few mounts. Can't wait for the season and to try out some of the angles some of you have displayed. But what I really want is a Quadcopter! I've flown model aircraft on and off for years. I'm still not that great with them, and I have learned that even with the stable nature of the quadcopters out there today, I'm not about to mount an expensive GoPro to a quadcopter and fly over water just yet. So I'm starting small. Bought a Syma X5C quadcopter with camera for about $65 on Amazon. Obviously the video quality can't compete with GoPro, but I figured it's a good way to start learning how to fly a quadcopter and gain the experience and confidence necessary to eventually upgrade to a Phantom and carry the GoPro. So I went out to the marina this past cold and windy Saturday. This quadcopter is very, very light and the wind speed was well over what I would consider optimal. I started it over the dock (upwind) so that any crashes would happen on land. Here's the edited product:
  3. I was so lucky today as was flying my DJI Phantom 2 around Lakes Entrance In Victoria and it was just in sight and decided to bring it home yet the mast of a cat got in the way. So lucky this recovered,” wrote the video poster who goes by the name cpodesta1. Oh, really?! Read more about the video here: http://mobile.soundingsonline.com/home/dispatches/293373
