290 signature starboard engine overheats at power

Recommended Posts

Help! 2006 signature with 5.0 mercruiser bravo III with 500 hours. Overheats above 3000 rpm, I have new risers and manifolds, new impeller. I swapped thermostat housings left to right which included thermostat, temperature sensor and temp switch. Externally inspected transom hose and it looks ok.

Please, any ideas???

Thanks

Jonathan

As mentioned on this forum in past threads you may have pieces of an old impeller trapped in hoses, thermostat housing, power steering cooler, or many other spots within the cooling system. More knowledgeable forum members will chime in with other ideas.............

Have heard that a water pump can become scored and even with a new impeller it will over heat at high RPM. It may require that you replaced it .
