1930 and 2130 Fuel Sending Unit Location

7 posts in this topic

I have a new to me 1997 1930 Sport. My neighbor has a 1995 2130 SST. We both would like to install a Moeller sending unit. Can anyone tell me where the sending units are located? I cahnged the sending units in my pontoon boat and my old Glassmaster ski boat. I much prefer their stability over the regular arm float sending units.

Lift the rear seat. Center of the floor, large, round plastic cover is removable, under it is your fuel tank access.

Brick, I checked underneath the black screw out access port just in front of the engine box on the 2130 sst. All that was there was the fuel line going to the elbow into the fuel tank. I didn't see anything that resembles a sending unit. That same access is under the rear seat in my 1930 Sport. I haven't looked in it, however. Just assumed that it would be like the 2130.

I had a 1930SST, 4 boats ago. The sender was under the plate.

I have a 95 1930SS and did the exact same replacement. The sender unit was under the panel on the aft side of my ski locker.......bit of a pain to get things off as I had to take the entire ski locker door and frame off, allowing that panel to come off. But, I've heard of some nightmare locations on other boats. As far as access, that was one Chaparral got right for sure!

I'm convinced that the fuel sending unit will be found in the aft portion of the in floor ski locker. Before removing the entire ski locker door and frame assembly, I would like to know of the tank depth at the sending unit. Anyone have that bit of knowledge stored on their grey matter hard drive?

I found the sending unit in the aft section of the ski locker. I did not have to remove the entire ski locker. There are two screws in the front and one centered in the rear of the little cover aft of the ski locker. They are hidding in the carpet.

The 2130 fuel tank is 8" deep. The 1930 is 7" deep. I ordered two WEMA reed type fuel sending units, 7" and

6" respectively. HSould have them by Thursday. Will let you know how they do.

As always, thatnks for the valuable information.
