2006 255 ssi

Recommended Posts

I am considering a 2006 255 ssi and was wondering whether this would be a suitable boat for the lower Chesapeake Bay. I enjoy crossing the bay from the Mobjack to Cape Charles and sometimes up to Tangier Island. I don't purposely go out in bad weather, but waves and wind can kick up in a hurry. Any thoughts? Also, do the SSI and Signature series have the same hull? Thanks.

Signature and SSi hulls are totally different. 255 SSi hulls works a lot better with trim tabs installed, but handles chop well. Other cuddy options to look at would be a 265 SSi, or even larger 275 SSi/285 SSx.
