W - is right on as usual.  By getting the tongue weight correct, you'll better balance the load over the duals and have less overhang on the bunk.  600 to 700 pounds is a good target.  I believe the typical rule of thumb is no less than 5%, no more than 10%, ideally 7 to 8%.  Something else to double check is the hitch and ball rating.  Class IV.

The bunks should support the transom. If they are short, the hull will develop a “hook”. Note that  the transom on a Chaparral “Extended V Plane” is the vertical plane that the outdrive transom plate is mounted to. The pods to each side which extend to the rear do not require support.

The trailer for our 285 is almost an exact match and sits very close to the same location, tongue weight levels off my Titan just right.  I'd say you're gtg.
