I googled Lake Roosevelt, it's the impounded Columbia River by the Grand Coulee Dam.

This is why you get off the lake when you see a storm coming.

Man if be absolutely beside myself watching that happen to my boat. I guess I'd like to think though that I wouldn't let it get that far.

Been there, done that. Thankfully, rode out a bad Tahoe thunderstorm by tying up to a buoy, rapidly tarped the boat using the snap cover and then laid down in the dark cockpit. Scary stuff.

Texted my wife; she replied "you have your life jacket on, right?" Hadn't even thought of that one... Yep, put one on and held on. The snap cover over the bow kept the waves, which were breaking over the bow, from swamping the boat.

I also found if you tie off to your trailer hook instead of the bow cleat the boat will stay on top of the waves better if anchored out or tie to a buoy. I leave my boat tied out when camping and seen it handle some rough stuff.
