Water in ski stow?

6 posts in this topic

Just bought a 2000 216 SSI. I've taken it out a few times. I notice about an inch deep of water in the ski stow. Is this normal?

Maybe.

Do you have GREAT boat covers to keep rain water out ? If you drain the boat does it start to fill up with no rains ? See if there are drain holes on the center of the boat. Sometimes they get plugged up. Does your bilge water pump get rid of the water if you hold the switch in the hand / manual position ?

Nope, water suppose to be on outside ;). Mines Always been dry except for water brought in from life jackets, water toys or rafts. Sounds like your drain is plugged

Water gets into them from rain, water toys etc. It has a drain at the center rear bottom that drains into the bilge. My drain is in a well that allows some water to remain around the edge of the well. More than likely it is clogged.

You may need to run a stiff wire or similar device down the drain plug to push out what is in the tube.
