Signature Series Gauge Malfunctions - Parts?

4 posts in this topic

I have a 1999 Signature 300 with a faulty tach - Port side pegged at 5K. Can't find anyone with replacement/OEM part. Does anyone know of a source for early model parts or a service shop that can do a Tach repair (lot's of auto tach repairs places)? Thanks for any help!

Before you spend big $$ to replace the tach, take it out and turn the switch.  when they have corrosion it causes the wrong readings. It is upper left in picture

Thanks for the reply - only problem is my Tach was manufactured by Medallion (Borg Warner) and is completely sealed on the rear. Looks like your model may be a Faria Tach. They do make a model (white dial vs. black) that would drop in but would require modifying the wiring harness. Still can't believe that no one has ever found a shop that could repair marine Tachs.

Re-post your question over in the Boat Talk forum and I think you'll get more eyes and probably a good answer.  These regional forums don't get a lot of traffic and this certainly isn't a regional question.  Best of luck!
