boat names you have seen ? the good bad and ugly

Recommended Posts

I cringe when I see boat names that have to do with alcohol consumption. I wonder if they are just asking to be boarded?

Miss Conduct   (Over used)

Prime Interest (Retired Bank president)

Out Voted (She name it)

Wingnut (There's a story there too)

Always remember, the only thing that actually works on an old boat is the owner.

  • What's the worst thing you can see on a beautiful woman?  A drunk'en Irishman.    Hey, don't hate the newsman for telling the truth.

Which translates into a labor of love.

Or love affair.  Denny

one of my favorites was "Scoundrel" on a 30' Velocity.  I like that name

Mine is "Monkey Sea II" named after my 1st daughter who was as hairy as a monkey when she was born!!  Gets it from my Italian wife!!:)

I figure that the name on the boat, tells a lot about the person who put it there.  Denny

Worst name I ever saw on a boat was "Sewer Pickle" on a go fast around Ontario NY in the mid 90's.  I don't expect I'll ever see a worse, nor more memorably bad name.

My two favorite names are the ones my wife wouldn't let me use.  I wanted to name our first big cruiser (31 ft Regal) "Docked Pay".  And our new cruiser that we moved up to (44 Trojan) I wanted to name Condom-minium in honor of the Trojan brand.  She wasn't buying it.  So both boats were named after her (Jean Marie and Jean Marie Too).

There's a go fast boat around me with the name Mr. Quickie - great for the boat not so great for the captain.

The Bad - "Screamin Seamen"

But seriously, some names shouldn't be used as they may cause confusion when communicating during distress.
