Happy new year to you all!

I hope 2017 brings you a great boating season!

I'm also looking for advice, I just replaced my fresh water pump, it runs smooth and much quieter than the old one, but it keeps running while I'm running water. Shouldn't it pressurize and stop "humming"?

thank you and again happy and safe new year.

Back at ya. Just got done smoking 4 racks of baby backs over hickory for tonight's dinner, yum. Pump should shut off once you turn the water off and pressure builds to set psi.

Back at you.

Yes the pump should shut off.

Smoking ribs and salmon tomorrow.

I use a green egg, with hickory chunks and chips.

Green egg is next on our list.

So, I'm running a filter prior to the pump. I'm wondering if that prevents the pump to run full psi. The filter doesn't seem to get full.

It is suppose to be running as long as water is running out. It cannot build up the water pressure high enough (*) to trigger a shut off as long as water is being let out. Adding a pressure tank will make a pump cycle instead of running on constantly.

(*) water does not compress, air does ... therfore a pressure tank will help

Happy New Year to ALL !!!

If you want to smoke get a trager.

The green egg is good and can act like a grill.

The trager is great for smoking and you are cooking with wood, not chunks and chips mixed in with lump charcoal.

It is much cleaner too.
