New to boating and new H2O owner

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to drop in and say hi. Just purchased my very first boat. We got a 21' H2O ski/ fish with the Yamaha 150 outboard. We are located in the Atlanta area and will primarily be going out on Lake Allatoona with some trips to the coast. Always open to suggestions and advice on things.  I'm planning on taking the boater safety course tomorrow (even though I'm not required to) and have been looking into the USCGA boating basics classes also. Any other recommendations or learning resources I should consider?

Welcome! It is great you are taking the class even if you don't have to!

Thanks. Started taking the class yesterday and so far it's pretty good. I've got some boating experience. My dad had a boat for a bit and I've been on plenty. It's quite different when it's you in charge and you that has to know.  To me it just makes sense to take it and I think everyone should. I'm even having my wife take the class.

Always good to have another person knowing how to operate!
