Need help with an alarm going off 2 beeps when turning the key and stays on.

Two beeps indicate a non-critical alarm and if it's a Merc, there are several possibilities which can be hard to narrow down without a scan tool. Likely sensor related and if you provide year, horsepower, and brand of your power package we may be able to provide some insight. If it's a late 2000 vintage or newer, your Smart Craft display will give you a read-out pointing you in the right direction. The buzzer Southern Cross is looking for hangs in the wiring harness under the helm and looks like a 1" diameter hockey puck. That said, I ask why he would care where it is unless he is looking to disconnect it. Real bad idea as it's trying to tell you something, Don't take the battery out of your smoke detector until you are sure your house is not ablaze. Ha...   Below is a list of alarm possibilities, and you should focus on the ones that say "Two Beeps per Minute".   W

Warning System

The engine warning system incorporates an audio alarm and, if installed, a SC1000 System Monitor. When the key switch is turned to the ON position, the audio alarm will momentarily activate to test the warning system. The alarm should sound once if the system is operable. This table is a guick guide, showing what warning output will accompany a fault.
