weather stripping

3 posts in this topic

I'm trying to restore a 89 2150SX. The weatherstrip around the forward hatch appears original. Being 28 years old, it's flat and leaks. The original was either round or triangular (it sits in a rounded groove). Anyone have a thought as to where I can get a replacement?

Thanks,

Terry

Welcome to the group....:oregonian_winesmiley:

I would just pick something up from HD or Lowes. With a boat that old, more than likely Nobody has anything close to that part.

+1,  with some imagination you can find something to take it's place.

If they don't have what you like, go on the net and type in weather seals, go to images, click on something you like, open it up, and click on visit page, it will direct you to someone who sells that product, or something that will work. Or maybe they will point you in the right direction.

I have found numerous things that I have been looking for that way.

Another way may be to look up hatches and find a manufacture and see if they will sell you a rubber seal.

It is out there, you just need to look for it.

Good luck,  Denny.
