Lake Simcoe - New boat owner and new to boating...hello!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I'm new here and wanted to reach out and get my feet wet. My profile is updated with my story and boat details.

In short, we purchased a 1999 Chaparral 260 Signature (28'8" LOA). 370 hrs on the original 5.7L Mercruiser. Pristine condition coming from Port Colborne; originally out of Sandy Cove Marine (11 years ago). Her name is Morning Mist - my favourite time of day on the water!

We're in the process of researching slips on Lake Simcoe or Cooks Bay. Leaning towards Keswick Marina.

Any pearls of wisdom appreciated!

Thanks,

Katharine

Hi Iggy!

Lake Simcoe is flanked by Barrie, Innisfil, Georgina, among other places. It's just below and South-East of the Trent-Severn waterway.

Does that help?

Edit: So sorry...I was thinking 'Ontario' group. I forgot it was Easten Canada. I'll try to be more specific.

Katharine

Welcome to the forums.

FWIW, here is a chart ...

trent_severn_waterway.jpg

Lake Simco is part of Trent-Severn Waterway, a navigable chain of rivers and lakes, and some 45 locks, that links Lake Ontario with Georgian Bay that is a bay off Lake Huron. One of more interesting parts of the Great Loop if one chooses to extend it.
