HVAC Question

Recommended Posts

When I run the heat or air conditioner when it reaches temperature it turns off the compressor but it still runs a fan circulating air. Is that normal?  Seems like it would make more sense to turn off completely until the thermostat calls for heat or a/c

For maximum comfort. use the continuous FAN MODE.

To save a buck / pennies ? Do the fan runs only with the compressor way.

I was more just concerned with it putting extra wear on the fan motor if it wasn’t supposed to do that. I actually like the white noise

Your house does the same thing, most likely, if it has newer thermostats.  Fan keeps running for a few minutes after the compressor shuts off to keep blowing cold air (or hot air if heat).

Nest calls it "Airwave" or something on their thermostats.

I put an RV AC unit on my cargo trailer.  It behaves the same way.  Never off.
