Not only that, look at the transom straps... they’re still tight. I always figured if something sudden like that happened the bowstop would let go. It’s something I’ve been really afraid of, so much so that I use an additional and separate rathet strap from the bow down to the frame (cheap insurance). Perhaps I worry to much.

Right about only 1 tie down in the bow.  At 70 mph into a 40 to 60 mph gusts ?  if the worn out ratchet lever wears out ?  Like mine did on the 16' aluminum boat trailer.  I have a S S link chain with a threaded clevis with a spring lock to hold the bow down. 

Yes I did drive away with old ratchet jumping out of lock down position.  The S S chain held the boat to about 1." of lift at 70 mph.
