Boat prop blades(rope cutter) to avoid being stuck

Recommended Posts

Since i am a newbie to boating i have heard that ropes or nets that get caught up on inbound engine props can be avoided by installing prop blades(rope cutter) behind the props. Has anybody installed one on their sunesta 224? Any recommendations since i dont want to get stuck in the middle of the sea. Is there an oem version available? Or do i have to buy an aftermarket blade. Advice needed.

Get a fish cleaning knife in a cover / sheath.  Store it on the boat with tools.  Has to be readily available by anyone looking for it.  Toolbox. or in a CLEAR Freezer bag next to the tool box.

The line cutters I've seen are on inboard applications with shaft drives and cutlass bearings. Not applicable to an I/O application utilizing an out drive.   W
