albert miller
Hey guys I have a chaparral 246 ssi surf 2018 and randomly when I turn on the speaker the system keeps on switching from mute to regular and it switches from bluetooth to aux without me doing anything. Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening? I've tried resetting the power or pushing the update button but nothing has worked so far.
highhplowiq
Sounds to me like the head unit is freaking out for some reason. Has it gotten abnormally wet or anything like that? It should still be under warranty with Chap if it is indeed going bad.
albert miller
It’s in a pretty secure compartment so it shouldn’t have gotten wet. Heading up north for the weekend any ideas on what I can try for a quick fix?
dan02gt
Make sure it's running the latest firmware. If you have any remotes it could be one of them.
albert miller
how would i check the firmware? There are no remotes its just the touch screen for controls
albert miller
I also noticed yesterday that it usually has more problems when the volume is turned up more, but i'm not positive about that yet.
dan02gt
What model is the head unit?
highhplowiq
I would start searching for loose wires/connections.
Iggy
Disconnect your remotes one by one and see if the problem goes away. I bet thats the problem.
Ran-Man
Sounds like not enough power going to the head unit. I believe there are two hot wires, red and yellow. Red is the battery and yellow is accessory I believe. Make sure each have 12 volts. Each of those wires should have their own fuse. Mine had a similar issue.
