Todd mac
I have a low hour generator that the local marina that I purchased boat from said needs a tune up. They said simple spark plugs should fix it. They called me back and said change of plans. To GET to the spark plugs on the oem generator they need to pull the boat out of the water, take the engine hatch off, and pull the generator to replace 2 spark plugs!!!! Are they serious? Please someone in the Chapparral community help me. I am original owner of 2012 and would like to know if I need specific tools or what needs to be removed to get the spark plugs replaced. Thanks Todd
Iggy
Have you looked to see where the spark plugs are on the genset? Is the room that tight? Spark plugs are one of the easiest things to replace. You might be able to do it yourself.
Todd mac
They are visible but not accessible with traditional socket. Exhaust manifold blocks it. Terrible design and location for basic maintenance
cyclops2
Does it need 1 of those heated up and bent to fit box wrenches ? The old G M v 8s required a offset wrench to adjust the distributor timing. The dealers need a buck or 2 .
