Fishstick
Are there any safety issues (carbon monoxide) or other when tied up with other boats and everyone is running their generator? This past weekend tied up with a buddy where my generator was discharging on the port side and his discharging on the starboard side. We didn't realize this until tied and anchored, but basically the generators were throwing water on each other. Just didn't know if tied up running gens if there is anything to be careful about. We both had blowers running and carbon monoxide detectors in the cabins.
cyclops2
Loads of hot rising exhaust fumes trying to get in the boats. Good thing the wind was pushing them away from a person in the back seats. They could get sleepy.
jeffk
I dont tie up with anyone but I see it all the time. Large boats with their gennys going. I would think you want them throwing water away from each other, not all the time possible. If they are throwing water on each other that channel between the boats is full of fumes. Phillbo
Does not sound like a good practice to me....
Iggy
Its really the fumes. The water intake is generally below the boats so that should not be a problem. Also most have a flap to let the water out but not in.
