I have owned my 1988 chaparral 2850 sx for 10 years now and have never seen another one other than in a few clasifieds. I was just wondering if any one has one or knows about the history of this model. For over night stays it has a nice size cabin with refergerator and sink, pump out porti potty and shore power. When you want to play it performs like a legit performance boat reaching speeds of just over 60 mph with the twin 350 mags at WOT and can handle the rough stuff very well. The craftsmanship on this boat is spectacular. After over 20 years of use it shows very little signs of age (all the hardeware and hatches still look and work like new, the hull is in great shape and very rarely need to tighting any fasteners). I have repainted it, installed a new stereo, and tinted the windshield to help update the look. Any info, pics or stories about these classic chaparrals would be great.
